One Call Access: Simplifying inpatient transfers
At Reid Health, we understand transferring a patient to a higher level of care can be a time-sensitive and complex process. That's why we've streamlined the inpatient transfer process through our One Call Access service. Available 24/7, our experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) are here to assist you every step of the way.
How One Call Access works
When you call (800) 873-2293, you'll be connected directly to a dedicated RN who will:
- Collect essential patient information:
- Patient's full name and date of birth
- Diagnosis and reason for transfer
- Name and contact information of the referring physician
- Any pertinent medical history
- Coordinate with our medical team: If the referring provider will not be the attending physician at Reid Health, the RN will arrange a conference call between the referring and accepting physicians to discuss the patient's care plan.
- Secure bed placement: The RN will liaise with Patient Placement to arrange a suitable bed once the admission is accepted. You’ll receive a follow-up call within 10 minutes to confirm bed availability and admission details.
