Community Health Needs Assessment
Reid Health’s CHNA identifies key health needs every three years to guide community programs, partnerships, and funding priorities.
What is the Community Health Needs Assessment?
Reid Health conducts a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) every three years to understand the most pressing health challenges in our service area. This federally required assessment, guided by the Affordable Care Act, helps us determine where the greatest needs exist and where our resources can have the most impact.
The CHNA is conducted in partnership with experts and incorporates data from local health statistics, surveys, focus groups, and community feedback. Special attention is given to vulnerable populations and areas where services might be limited or lacking.
Why the CHNA is important
The CHNA provides a clear picture of community health priorities, which helps us:
- Develop programs that address the most urgent health needs
- Form partnerships with local organizations to expand reach and impact
- Allocate grants and resources where they’re most effective
- Create initiatives that reduce health disparities and improve access to care
- Track progress and outcomes over time to guide long-term community health strategies
By using the CHNA to guide planning, we ensure our programs and services are aligned with the real needs of the communities we serve, making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
