Community Impact Report

What is Community Engagement?

Community Engagement at Reid Health reflects our commitment to improving the overall health and well-being of the people and neighborhoods we serve. As a not-for-profit health system, we invest in programs and partnerships that go beyond hospital walls, connecting care to community needs through education, outreach, and support.

Our work is guided by the belief that better health starts with understanding the unique needs of our community. That’s why, every three years, we conducts a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to identify local health priorities and opportunities to make a meaningful impact. Based on those findings, we develop an implementation plan that directs funding, programs, and partnerships to address the most pressing health challenges facing our region.

Through Community Engagement, we fulfill our mission of leading our communities to well-being, one person at a time, creating sustainable change and improving quality of life for all who call our region home.

Guiding priorities through the Community Health Needs Assessment

Our Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) is the cornerstone of our work. Conducted every three years, it identifies our region’s top health needs and guides the programs we create, the partnerships we build, and the grants we provide.

CHNA priorities help us:

  • Improve access to care and reduce health disparities
  • Develop programs that meet community needs
  • Fund organizations with measurable impact
  • Guide long-term community health strategies

How Reid Health Foundation and Community Benefit work together

Reid Health Foundation and our Community Engagement team share one goal: improving community health.

The foundation supports patients receiving care through Reid with funding programs that enhance patient experience and outcomes. Community Engagement extends this mission beyond our walls, delivering health education, resources, and programs where people live and work, connecting care to community wellness.
