At Union Savings & Loan Association (USLA), one of the organization’s core values speaks to the bank’s place within Connersville and Fayette County.

“We are a product of and a leader in our communities,” it says. “We take community service seriously and we will fully support activities that strengthen and promote community welfare and growth.”

That emphasis on service is one that’s shared by Reid Health, according to Derrick Mathews, Executive Vice President, CFO, and Senior Trust Officer at USLA and a member of the Reid Health Foundation Board.

“The teams at both organizations live and work here, raise children who go to school here, and represent the future of the community,” he said.

“Both organizations are vital to the community we serve as personal health and financial health go hand-in-hand to create a stronger, better community.”

The partnership between Reid and USLA was at the forefront of today’s formal dedication of the USLA Café at the new Reid Health Connersville facility.

“All of us at USLA were thrilled to be able to contribute to the creation of this new campus,” said Amanda Back, USLA President and a member of the Finance Committee of Reid’s Governing Board.

“When we were approached about potentially having a space named after us, the café seemed like a perfect fit – something that benefited not only the patients and staff here, but the greater community as well.

“It’s always wonderful to work with a partner like Reid that sees the potential of this community. Together, we’re committed to the prosperity of Connersville and Fayette County for many years to come.”

Jason Troutwine, Reid Health Vice President and Reid Health Foundation President, thanked USLA for contributing $100,000 to the $5 million capital campaign for the new Reid Health Connersville.

“For more than 130 years, USLA has served the residents of Connersville and greater Fayette County through the work they do at the bank as well as through their support for community organizations,” he said.

“Thank you, Amanda, Derrick, and everyone at USLA for investing in us, in Connersville, and in Fayette County, and helping us make this wonderful new campus a reality.”
