This volunteer-led initiative offers services at no charge to the families of nurses in the Reid Health service area. The Honor Guard's presence serves as a testament to the profound impact nurses have on their communities.

Who’s eligible for a Nurse Honor Guard tribute?

The service is available to any nurse – registered nurse (RN), nurse practitioner (NP), nurse anesthetist, licensed practical nurse (LPN), active or retired, in good standing, with the Board of Nursing, within the Reid Health service area.

In addition to posthumous honors, the Nurse Honor Guard offers living tributes to nurses nearing the end of life, celebrating their contributions while they’re still present.

A Nurse's Prayer

Give me strength and wisdom,
When other need my touch;
A soothing word to speak to them,
Their hearts yearn for so much.

Give me joy and laughter,
To life a weary soul;
Pour in me compassion,
To make the broke whole.

Give me the gentle healing hands,
For those left in my care;
A blessing to those who need me,
This is a nurse’s prayer.

We'd love to honor your loved one
