The Ginkgo Society honors individuals who have included Reid Health Foundation in their estate plans or established another planned gift to support future generations.

A legacy rooted in care

Planned giving is a meaningful way to continue a personal tradition of generosity while supporting the future health and well-being of our communities.

The Ginkgo Society honors individuals who have included Reid Health Foundation in their estate plans or established another type of planned gift. Through their foresight and generosity, members help Reid Health respond to future needs, advance patient care, and continue serving families throughout our region.

Every member has a different reason for giving and a different story to tell. Together, their gifts create an enduring legacy of care.

Jan Bohlander: A lifetime of giving back

Jan Bohlander and her late husband, Richard “Dick” Bohlander, built their lives around service, connection, and giving back. They began supporting Reid Health in 1982 and later established a charitable gift annuity through Reid Health Foundation. Today, Jan continues their shared legacy through the Ginkgo Society. “The gift is about the health and the well-being of the community, not recognition,” Jan said. “Reid has always been very good to us, and I believe in it.”

Robin Henry: Neighbors taking care of neighbors

Richmond native Robin Henry has always believed in neighbors taking care of one another. After including Reid Health Foundation in her will, she chose to make her commitment irrevocable so it could begin making a difference during her lifetime. Her planned gift will support the Foundation where the need is greatest, helping meet emerging needs and ease burdens for patients and families. “That’s what we’re here for—to take care of each other,” Robin said. “If I can be a small part of that, I want to be.”
