The Art of Healing

The "art of healing" is about creating an environment that promotes culture, comfort and recovery. As a result of a substantial grant from Reid Foundation, the Reid campus is now home to over 700 pieces of art. Twenty artists and their work are highlighted in this tour. In addition, the MacDowell Gallery, named in honor of retired Reid Hospital President Barry MacDowell, is located on the second floor of the Outpatient Care Center. As you view this rotating gallery of fine art, you will find that many works showcased have a local or regional connection, providing a sense of familiarity. It is the hope of those instrumental in creating the Reid art program that it serves to provide a sense of warmth and comfort to patients and their families.
