18. Portrait of Daniel Reid

This 1904 oil on canvas portrait of philanthropist and Reid Health namesake Daniel Reid is one of the finest works by artist William Alden Mote. Mote, who moved to Richmond in 1870 from West Milton, Ohio, specialized in portrait painting. He was also co-owner of Mote Brothers, Artists and Photographers in Richmond.
