Signature Care Exclusive Provider Organizations (EPO)

Reid Health Signature Care Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO)

The Signature Care network emphasizes access to the highest quality care and affordable rates for better patient outcomes. When patients have more options for their care, they feel empowered to take ownership of their health, leading to more informed decisions. This results in healthier individuals and stronger, more resilient communities.

What is an EPO?

An EPO is a health plan that offers coverage to a select network of providers. It typically covers in-network care, including emergencies or special circumstances. With an EPO, you don't need referrals to see specialists, giving you more flexibility in managing your health.

How is an EPO different than a PPO?

The key difference between an EPO and a preferred provider organization (PPO) is an EPO covers care within a specific network of providers, while a PPO allows you to access out-of-network providers but at a higher cost. EPOs generally don't cover out-of-network care except in the case of an emergency or special circumstances. A PPO will offer out-of-network care, but at a higher premium with out-of-pocket costs.

Choosing a healthcare facility

When selecting a healthcare facility or provider within the Reid Health Signature Care EPO network, it's important to understand the three-tier system. This helps guide your choices, ensuring you receive high-quality care at an affordable cost. By using the appropriate tier, you can make informed decisions about where to receive treatment, balancing both access to care and cost savings. Our network is built to support your healthcare needs, helping you navigate options with confidence.

Signature Care: The three tiers defined

  • Tier 1 - Optimal choice: The highest level of coverage at the lowest rate is offered at a Tier 1 facility.
  • Tier 2 - In-network but with a higher deductible: These facilities are still in-network, but service will come with a higher deductible.
  • Tier 3 - Out-of-network: These facilities are to be used in case of an emergency only. Outside of an emergency, this care will come at higher costs.
