Early detection can save lives.
Prostate cancer will affect 1 in 8 men during their lifetime. A screening can help detect it early, when treatment is most effective and outcomes are more favorable.
Free prostate cancer screenings will be held from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, in the Oncology Conference Room at Reid Health, 1100 Reid Parkway.
Your privacy is maintained during the screening.

Who should consider screening?
- Men age 50 and older who have discussed screening with their provider.
- African American men, particularly those over 65.
- Men ages 40-45 who are considered high risk, including those with a father, brother, or son diagnosed before age 65 or with multiple first-degree relatives who've had prostate cancer.
Screenings might include a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test and/or a digital rectal exam (DRE).
