Ambassador for March finds path with Reid ROSE from the onset
March 4, 2024 -- Sarah Turner joined Reid Outpatient Surgery & Endoscopy (ROSE) fresh out of high school to gain experience in healthcare as she started college.
The
Richmond native completed two degree programs while working as a noncertified
nursing assistant (NCA) with ROSE.
The early entry
into healthcare provided hands-on learning and built her skills through experience.
She attended Indiana University East to complete her first degree in biology
and then a B.S. in Nursing from Western Governors University.
"During this
time, I was afforded the opportunity of support and advancement in various
nursing roles," Turner said.
"I've always
enjoyed working with the team and physicians."
The Ambassador
for the month of March is now the Clinical Manager of Endoscopy.
ROSE colleagues
said Turner goes above and beyond to provide excellent patient care and leadership.
They add she's dedicated, conscientious, humble, hardworking, and she makes the
needs of her team a priority.
She's also quick
to help in any situation, providing service with a smile.
"Sarah takes initiative to find new processes
to create a positive and more efficient workplace, which affects both the team
and the patients for the better," a co-worker said.
Working as a
team in ROSE makes a difference for Turner, and she wants that for her team
too.
It's the
contribution to team-oriented healthcare, where effective teamwork contributes
to positive patient outcomes, that Turner particularly enjoys about her job,
she said.
"ROSE
facilitates a collaborative and supportive work environment, allowing team the
ability to communicate concerns as they arise," Turner said.
The ROSE team
sees her work ethic daily. They said she's an asset to ROSE and
Gastroenterology (GI).
She's an
excellent choice to be selected as a Reid ambassador, an administrator notes.
"She works
collaboratively with multiple departments to ensure our patients get the care
they need," the administrator said. "Sarah has recently been an integral part
of assisting with the scheduling of our GI procedures to ensure we are
maximizing access for our patients."
A co-worker
said Turner ensures quality patient care while being empathetic to their
situation.
"Sarah has
really worked hard to get the patients on the schedule sooner by coordinating
with the office and the schedulers. We're very fortunate to have Sarah as a
part of our management team at ROSE," the co-worker said.
Another
administrator said Turner embodies the essence of exceptional patient care,
demonstrating unwavering dedication, compassion, and professionalism in all her
endeavors. She's credited with bringing a blend of empathy and clinical
expertise, creating a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters healing
and comfort for all under her care.
A team that
provides support and a positive work environment encourages collaboration,
respect, and a healthy work-life balance, all of which serve as motivation for
Turner.
"I work with a
great team of nurses that continually strive to provide excellent care for
their patients on a daily basis," Turner said.
Turner lives in
Richmond with her husband, Greg, the Director of Financial Services for Reid
Health Accounting Services. They have two children: Emma and Easton. When not
at work, Turner enjoys vacationing with friends and family.
