December Ambassador ‘adds that extra personal touch to what she does’
Tracy Winslow, Environmental Services
Dec. 2, 2024 -- It's the little moments that Tracy Winslow enjoys most about her role as a member of the Environmental Services team at Reid Health, working primarily in the Family Birthing Center.
"Seeing a new family have their first child or siblings meeting their brother or sister just makes my day," she said.
"My mother instilled in me to do the best I can, to treat
everyone with respect, and to help where I can. I love to help people,
even if it's just a short conversation."
Those lessons come through in the way Reid Health's
Ambassador for the month of December goes about her work each day.
"One of the most notable qualities we see Tracy display
during every interaction is empathy," one co-worker said. "She approaches her
work with sensitivity to the emotional and physical needs of patients and their
families. She engages with patients and staff in a compassionate manner, offering
a comforting smile or kind word when needed."
"Tracy is caring, compassionate, helpful, and friendly with
everyone she comes across," another person said. "She's truly a great asset to
both our unit and this organization."
Winslow has been part of the Reid team for six years. She
came to the health system after working as a restaurant manager.
"I'm a people person and enjoy talking with people," she
said. "I always said when I got to where it was time to leave my old job, I'd love
to work at Reid and help serve others."
Co-workers praise Winslow's dependability, sense of
responsibility, and commitment to excellence.
"Tracy hands down is one of the best assets to our unit,"
one person said. "She's dedicated, detailed, hardworking, and adds that extra
personal touch to what she does."
"In addition to taking care of the Family Birthing Center,
she also goes to other units when the need arises and is the reason it looks so
clean and inviting when guests step off the elevator onto the third floor,"
another person said.
A lifelong resident of Richmond, Winslow enjoys walking,
crafting, gardening, and spending time with her two children and five
grandchildren.
"She's incredibly friendly with everyone she encounters," a
co-worker said. "I've never seen Tracy without a smile on her face. Everyone
loves when she's here. We can always count on her!"
