First Ambassador of 2025 ‘truly embodies what it means to be a team player’
Chris Cohee
Jan. 17, 2025 -- Chris Cohee just recently changed positions at Reid Health. After five years serving as a patient placement clerk in Nursing Administration, he's now moved to a role as an audiology assistant.
Those he worked most closely with in his previous position will miss his always-positive demeanor and the way he has of making the day a bit brighter for everyone around him.
"One of Chris's best qualities is how easy he is to work
with," one person said. "He's approachable, friendly, and always willing to
help. People genuinely enjoy working with him because he creates such a
welcoming atmosphere. His efforts make a big difference in keeping everyone on
the same page and working together."
"Chris does this while being friendly and caring to
everyone he talks to and sees," another co-worker said. "He truly shows Reid's
values every time he works!"
That's not by accident. Reid's Ambassador for the month of
January says he's pushing to always improve himself and do the best he can in
whatever he does.
"Knowing I'm a direct influence on patients' experience
always keeps me excited to do my best," Cohee said. "I enjoy seeing other
people be happy and being able to improve others' lives.
"No matter how small, every encounter a person has
throughout the day affects them, and I want people to leave any experience they
have with me having a positive outlook."
Cohee is studying business administration at Indiana
Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. He has about a year left before earning
his degree, and once he's done, he'd like to continue his career in healthcare.
"I'm not entirely sure of my end goal yet, but I've enjoyed
working in healthcare and would like to do something here if I could," Cohee
said. "I originally came to Reid because I'd known people who worked here, and
they all had good things to say. When I shadowed for the role of patient placement
clerk, everyone was kind and welcoming.
"I've enjoyed my time here. Everyone you talk to is nice
and supportive of each other. Even when you talk to strangers you haven't met
yet from other departments, they're kind and it's like you already know them."

A Richmond native, Cohee is the oldest of six children. In
his free time, he enjoys playing disc golf, spending time with friends playing
Dungeons & Dragons, hanging out with his family, and playing the ukulele,
guitar, and bass.
"Chris truly embodies what it means to be a team player,
and we're lucky to have him," a co-worker said. "He absolutely deserves this
recognition for all he does to make Reid a better place."
