March Ambassador: No job is too small when it comes to helping someone in need

Laura Crowe, Environmental Services
March 3, 2025 -- When
Laura Crowe started working at Reid Health, she wasn't looking for something
long term.
"It was meant to only be an additional side job for me," she said. "A family member works here and thought I'd enjoy it. I have a full-time job already and this was just meant to be temporary yet here we are close to eight years later because I just never left!"
Crowe manages and co-owns a rental company with properties
in Richmond as her main source of income, but Reid's Ambassador for the month
of March has remained with the health system because of the culture she found
there.
"The people who make up the Reid team are honestly what has
kept me here for all the years that I have," Crowe said. "Finding a positive
work dynamic is what we can only hope for, and I work with so many genuine and
kind people who I truly appreciate.
"I tend to work within all areas of the hospital, and I get
to see the dedication everyone puts in. Along with the great co-workers, I have
a lot of interaction with patients in all types of scenarios. There's so many who
have made lasting impressions in my own life."
Crowe's co-workers say she brings passion and a commitment
to excellence to her role as a member of the Environmental Services team.
"Laura is the best," one person said. "She's always down to
have a good laugh, and she's kind and caring to everyone she comes into contact
with. I love her so much, and we're so lucky to have her on our team."
"She's an exceptional vision of what an employee can be,"
another person said. "She always has a smile on her face, and no matter the
situation, she's quick to respond and always willing to help. No matter the
need, she doesn't hesitate."
"Whether it's here in the Environmental Services department or working within the community, I'd say I always tend to fall into a role that's a service to others. I'll always look to help someone in need, and no job is too small when it comes to that." -- Laura Crowe, Reid Health's Ambassador for the month of March
A native of Williamsburg, Crowe now lives outside
Hagerstown with her husband, Matthew Sink. She has three children -- Rylee,
Kyndall, and Sylas.
"I'm blessed with these wonderful kids and a great husband,"
Crowe said. "They're always my motivation to get up and keep going, to do
better, be better, be kind, make a difference, work hard, and enjoy all you
can."
A self-described homebody who nevertheless loves to travel,
Crowe is happy to just be outside when the weather is nice. She's also "a big
plant girl."
"I'm always on the lookout for a new one to take home even
though I'm out of space," she said.
