Reid Health’s latest technology updates bring benefits for patients, staff
June 10, 2024 -- Reid Health
continues to make investments in technology aimed at improving the patient
experience and easing staff's behind-the-scenes workload so caregivers can
spend more quality time with patients.
The health
system recently rolled out a series of upgrades to Epic -- Reid's electronic
medical records platform -- that will benefit patients and staff alike.
"At Reid Health, we're dedicated to leveraging
the latest technology to enhance the overall patient experience and streamline
our staff's workflow," said Muhammad Siddiqui, Reid Health Vice President/Chief
Information Officer. "The recent upgrades to our Epic platform empower our
patients with more accessible and comprehensive health information while
enabling our caregivers to focus on what matters most -- providing exceptional
care."
Some of the new features for patients include:
- Insurance details such as deductible information, benefits, and membership cards can be found in MyReid, Reid Health's mobile app built using the Epic platform.
- Downloadable forms in MyReid have health information such as allergies, current medications, providers, and more for easy sharing with your child's daycare, school, or summer camp.
- Text messages can be sent to patients letting them know when home care staff are on their way.
- Providers can text and email details about medical study opportunities to patients who might be eligible to participate, regardless of whether those patients have a MyReid account.
For staff, the
new features focus on improving efficiencies, so providers spend less time in
the Epic system and more time with their patients and at home.
"It's
critically important to us that our caregivers have a healthy work-life
balance," said Vinay Bhooma, MD, Vice President/Chief Medical Officer for Reid
Health. "These updates will give our teams more time to be with their patients
and their families."
"Technology plays a crucial role in modern healthcare by not only improving patient outcomes but also by making the work of our healthcare providers more efficient and less burdensome. By continuously investing in innovative solutions, Reid Health is committed to delivering high-quality care and ensuring both patients and staff benefit from a more connected and efficient healthcare environment." -- Muhammad Siddiqui, Reid Health Vice President/Chief Information Officer
