Social Thinkers Group
In our Social Thinkers Groups, we foster team work and leadership
above all else. Our facility allows the unique opportunity to match ages and
interests with both a speech and occupational therapy perspective to best meet
your child's social needs. Our groups tackle every day social situations in a safe
environment where they are able to learn and explore. We incorporate movement with
language building activities to target foundational social skills such as:
- Flexible thinking
- Appropriate turn-taking
- Safety awareness
- Maintaining eye contact
- Perspective taking/understanding
- Asking/answering questions
- Attention to tasks
- Emotional regulation
- Problem solving
- Reading context/hidden social clues
- Independence in daily activities (e.g. cooking, hygiene, daily chores)
At this time, we have 4 Social Thinker Groups led by either
a qualified speech or occupational therapist. If you feel as though a group
setting would be a good match for your child, let your therapist know! We will
work to try and find a good fit for their needs. Our groups are flexible
depending upon the current patients.
