Daisy award: Recognizing extraordinary nurses
Reid Health has partnered with the DAISY Foundation, — dedicated to honoring excellence in nursing — to present the DAISY Award. The honor was created to recognize nurses who treat patients and families with compassion, instill faith and hope in patients, exceed expectations by understanding and anticipating needs of their patients, and look for opportunities to create a welcome and special environment for patients.
Who's eligible for a DAISY award?
Any registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) at Reid Health is eligible to receive a DAISY Award. Nominees should consistently demonstrate our mission and values through extraordinary clinical skills, compassion, and commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
Nurses across all areas, — whether in inpatient units, clinics, or specialty services, — can be nominated. What matters most is the impact they have on those they serve, going above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of patients, families, and team members.

About the Daisy foundation
The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of an auto-immune disease. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family.
When he died, they felt compelled to say "thank you" to nurses in a very public way. The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses recognizes the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.
