Financial Assistance Policy
Read Reid Health’s financial assistance and billing and collections policies to find out how financial assistance eligibility is determined and how to apply.
Financial Assistance Policy summary
Reid Health provides financial assistance to patients who don’t have a way to pay for emergent and other medically necessary care to treat a condition that in the absence of medical attention could reasonably jeopardize the health or condition of the individual.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for financial assistance, the patient or guarantor must apply by completing a financial assistance application. Patients applying for financial assistance won’t be denied based on:
- Age
- Sex
- Race
- Religion
- National origin
The decision to provide financial assistance will be based on a review of the household income. Additional information might be requested and ultimately could affect this decision.
The necessity for medical treatment of any patient will be based on the clinical judgement of the healthcare provider without regard to the financial status of the patient. All patients will be treated for emergency medical conditions without discrimination and regardless of their eligibility for financial assistance.
Financial assistance is generally determined by the total household income based on the federal poverty guidelines. When total household income is less than 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, a 100% discount is applied to services covered under the financial assistance policy.
Please refer to the financial assistance policy for a complete explanation and details.
