Rock Steady Boxing at Reid Health
Reid Health is proud to be the first hospital affiliate for Rock Steady Boxing, available in the Reid Fitness department. The non-contact boxing rehabilitation program is designed to improve quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Supported by a community grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation and the local Pro's Players FORE Parkinson's golf tournament, the program has grown rapidly, welcoming participants of all fitness levels and abilities.
Since its launch, our Rock Steady Boxing program has expanded to provide personalized assessments, specialized classes, and ongoing support, helping members build strength, balance, and confidence while fostering a strong sense of community.
What to expect at a Rock Steady Boxing class
Before your first session, you’ll complete a free assessment to place you in the right class. Each session combines boxing-inspired movements, balance and coordination drills, footwork, and core exercises. Coaches provide modifications to match your abilities.
Classes also include encouragement and camaraderie, so you gain both physical benefits and support from peers facing similar challenges.
Eligibility to participate in Rock Steady Boxing
Participation in our Rock Steady Boxing program requires a Parkinson's Disease diagnosis and a referral from a healthcare provider to ensure the program is safe and appropriate for each person.
