Join Reid Health’s free Quarterly Oncology Nutrition & Wellness Forum, a supportive group where patients, survivors, and caregivers learn practical ways to care for their health during and after cancer treatment.
Offered by Reid Health Diabetes & Nutrition Education and Reid Oncology, this community support group blends expert guidance with peer connection to help you feel supported every step of the way.
What you can expect
During each session of the Oncology Nutrition & Wellness Forum, participants can learn practical strategies to support their health and well-being during and after cancer treatment. The group provides expert-led education on oncology nutrition, wellness habits, and ways to manage common treatment side effects.
Participants have the opportunity to ask questions, join supportive conversations with peers and caregivers, and sample fortified foods while taking home free recipe cards.
Topics vary by session and might include nutrition guidance, safe and effective fitness ideas, managing nausea or fatigue, emotional well-being, and resource information such as wigs, mastectomy supplies, or survivorship programs. Many sessions also include guest experts from departments across Reid Health, creating a comprehensive, community-focused experience.
Key highlights include:
• Q&A led by Ashlee Pax, Director of Clinical Nutrition Services and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
• Free fortified food samples and take-home recipe cards
• Practical nutrition and wellness strategies for managing treatment side effects
• Guests might include representatives from Lincare, Rehab Services, Home Medical Equipment, Social Services, Oncology Social Workers, Cancer Navigation, Clinical Trials Opportunities, and mood enhancement/well-being at Reid
The group will meet quarterly from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Oncology Conference Room, located at Reid Health, 1100 Reid Parkway in Richmond. Specific dates will be announced ahead of each meeting.
