Parkinson Voice Project at Reid Health: Speak with intention, live with confidence

Reid Health Rehabilitation Center is proud to offer the Parkinson Voice Project, a specialized speech and swallowing therapy program designed for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.

Our certified speech-language pathologists guide you through structured voice exercises and group sessions so you can improve communication, increase vocal strength, and regain confidence.

Because voice and swallowing changes are common in Parkinson’s, this program helps you speak clearly, be heard, and better connect with family, friends, and your community.

How this therapy helps

People with Parkinson’s often experience quieter, softer speech, changes in tone, or difficulty swallowing. The Parkinson Voice Project addresses these issues by focusing on “speaking with intent” rather than automatic voice patterns. The result is stronger voice volume, clearer speech, improved swallowing safety, and better quality of life.

What a Parkinson Voice Project session might look like

  • One-on-one session: Your speech-language pathologist leads warm-up voice exercises, pitch glides, sustained phonation, and reading tasks.
  • Group follow-up: Participants join a continuation program after individual therapy to practice in a supportive peer environment and maintain gains.
  • Home practice: You receive a workbook or digital guide to use every day. Consistent practice between sessions is key to long-term success.

Based on the certified SPEAK OUT!® method, this program blends evidence-based treatment with real-world support.
