What does an EMT do?
Emergency medical technicians play a critical role as the caregiving bridge between the scene of an emergency and the hospital.
EMTS are trained to:
- Assess patients and determine immediate medical needs
- Provide emergency medical care and basic life support
- Manage airways and help with breathing emergencies
- Control bleeding and stabilize injuries
- Help during traumatic events and medical emergencies
- Safely transport patients to appropriate care

Our EMT program combines academic instruction with hands-on experiences to prepare students for certification and a career in emergency medicine. Training is divided into five modules:
