What is a smart room?
A smart room is a high-tech hospital room where all the systems tracking your health work together seamlessly. This makes it easier for your care teams – and your loved ones – to stay on the same page about every detail of your treatment.
From the digital wall sign outside your room to the smartboards inside and over your bed, these systems constantly share data with each other and your care team. This streamlined approach allows us to focus on what matters most: taking care of you!
Wall signs, level-setting care at your door
Your smart room experience begins before you even step into your room. The smart wall sign outside your door displays more than just your room number. It also shares important dates, whether visitors are welcome, or if there are any restrictions. Plus, it lists the names of your care team members currently in your room, so your loved ones can understand what’s happening before they come in to see you.
Stay up-to-date with in-room smartboards
We’ve removed traditional dry-erase boards and replaced them with smartboards to give you a more connected and up-to-date experience. Your smartboard displays the names of your Reid Health care team members and the best way to contact them. When a provider, nurse, or therapist enters your room, the board automatically updates with their name and role, so you’re always in the know.
You can also see your upcoming schedule at a glance, keeping you informed about what’s happening and when. Plus, the board’s simple interface allows you to add notes to share your thoughts on your progress. It’s all designed to keep you involved and engaged in every part of your care!
Communicate clearly from your bed
Even your hospital bed is smart at Reid Health! The call button not only calls your nursing team, but it lets them know how they can help you before they even enter your room. For patients under fall protocols, our beds also include remote monitoring designed to keep you safe. We’ve added smart technology everywhere possible to make your stay smoother, allowing us to focus on what matters most – providing you with the best care possible.
