Age-based allergy and asthma services

Our pediatric allergy providers tailor the testing and treatments we run based on your child's age and symptoms. This allows us to ensure they receive the most accurate diagnosis and the most effective care possible for their unique needs.

  • Skin prick testing: Children as young as 6 months old can be assessed for aeroallergens (such as dust, pollen, or pet dander) and certain foods with this allergy test.
  • Allergy immunotherapy: Immunotherapy – also known as allergy shots – could help children as young as 6 years old find relief from seasonal allergies over time, including allergic reactions and conditions like rhinitis, allergy-based asthma, conjunctivitis, and insect sting allergies.
  • Asthma assessment: If your child is more than 7 years old, we can conduct asthma assessments to thoroughly understand and treat the source of their chronic breathing issues.
  • Intradermal testing: Starting at age 8, our pediatric allergists can check your child for allergies to specific drugs or venoms using intradermal (or skin) testing.
