Robotic-assisted and laparoscopic approaches  

Our goal is to help you return to your daily activities as soon as possible after surgery. To that end, our surgeons use minimally invasive da Vinci technology and laparoscopic methods to speed your recovery and reduce the risk of post-surgical pain and complications compared with traditional, open surgeries. Laparoscopic surgery

Minimally invasive surgery means surgeons complete the procedure with few or no incisions. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery in which a lighted telescope with a camera — called a laparoscope — is inserted through the belly button to look inside the body. Other incisions might be necessary to collect diagnostic samples and treat issues like tumors.  

Because laparoscopic surgery uses small incisions and advanced instruments, it often results in less pain, reduced scarring, and quicker recovery times. Patients typically experience shorter hospital stays and can return to their normal activities sooner. Additionally, laparoscopic surgery minimizes the risk of complications like infections, making it a safer option for many procedures.

Our general surgeons have special training in using the da Vinci Surgical System. This advanced system allows surgeons to operate in difficult-to-reach areas, which could be inaccessible with traditional open surgery. The system magnifies the area being operated on, and surgeons use very small instruments to perform procedures through small incisions with accuracy and precision.
