Your surgical experience at Reid

Having any type of surgery is a major decision, and we’re here to help you navigate the process from the moment you schedule your procedure through rehab and recovery. We partner with you throughout the journey to help you feel confident in your decision.

Joint and spine navigators

You meet with one of our caring spine and joint navigators once you decide to have surgery. Your navigator’s role is to help you schedule appointments with your perioperative team, educate you about your procedure and what to expect, and answer questions you have throughout the process.

Reid Health Perioperative Care

Perioperative care helps ensure you’re as healthy as possible for surgery. The Reid Health Perioperative Care team will help you get in shape for surgery, which can speed your recovery. The team also addresses chronic conditions and other health concerns, not only helping you stay safe during surgery but also reducing readmission and complications after surgery.

Your team takes time to get to know you and understand your goals for surgery. They’re here to help your surgery proceed safely with the best possible outcomes.

Spine and joint classes

These one-time classes are led by joint navigators and help you better understand what will happen during surgery and what recovery and rehab could look like. Surgery can make you anxious, and these classes offer you an opportunity to talk to others and learn more about what’s ahead.

After-hours postsurgical support

After surgery, you can call our after-hours support line at (833) 984-7343. You’ll be connected to a provider who can help you manage complications and address concerns you might have about your recovery. Anyone can call, including caregivers or loved ones staying with you.

Rehabilitation and recovery

Many people need physical therapy or other forms of rehabilitation after orthopedic surgery. Our comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation center is the largest of its kind in the area. Physical and occupational therapists work with you to get you back to your normal, daily activities as quickly as possible.
