Advanced hip replacement surgery at Reid Health

Hip replacement is one of the most common forms of joint replacement surgery performed in the U.S., and you can trust the orthopedic surgeons at Reid Health Comprehensive Bone & Joint Center have the expertise to perform your procedure, getting you back to your daily life.

Our surgeons use advanced, minimally invasive Mako robotic-assisted surgery, which combines 3D modeling and high-quality CT imaging to help us replace your joint precisely, with less pain and downtime afterward.

In a total hip replacement, the entire ball-and-socket joint is replaced. The head of your femur (the ball) is replaced with a metal prosthetic, and the lining of your joint (the socket) is replaced with a plastic liner, allowing for smooth, seamless movement.

We’re also skilled at performing partial hip replacements to treat fractures. In these procedures, usually, only the ball is replaced with a prosthetic.
