Offering you a peek at your baby
Whether you’re a first-time mom or adding to your family, seeing your baby on an ultrasound is an exciting moment. Most ultrasounds performed as part of prenatal care, however, are short and sweet.
If your ultrasound left you in love with your baby and wanting another look, Peek-a-Baby at Reid Health can be the solution. We offer a number of imaging packages that let expectant moms, their families, and other loved ones take an extended look at their littlest family member.
What is a Peek-a-Baby session?
During a Peek-a-Baby session, we use 3D and 4D ultrasound to capture an enhanced view of your baby — offering images and videos with greater detail than a 2D ultrasound provides. These sessions can be the perfect opportunity for a gender reveal or simply give you a little extra time to be amazed by your baby’s tiny features.
Peek-a-Baby sessions are performed between weeks 26 and 36 of pregnancy to give the best possible view of your little one. You can schedule your appointment at any time once you know you’re pregnant. We’ll schedule it in advance so you can mark the day on your calendar.

What to expect during a Peek-a-Baby session
Preparing for a Peek-a-Baby imaging session? We’re committed to making it a positive and comfortable experience.
When you check in for your appointment at the hospital’s outpatient services desk, you’ll be directed to our imaging suites. Each room has a couch and TV so you and other members of your party can easily view your baby during the session.
Peek-a-Baby appointments last about 30 minutes. Babies have a mind of their own, so if your little one isn’t cooperating to provide a good view, we’ll try a few techniques to coax your baby into a different position.
If we still can’t quite capture your little one, don’t worry. We’ll provide you with a complementary Peek-a-Baby session to try again.

Whether you simply want a little extra time to see your baby on screen or want to add in some pampering along with your sneak peek, we offer packages at varying price points to meet your needs.

- Love at First Sight ($125): This package includes a 30-minute imaging session, a framed black-and-white photo of your baby, and a CD of ultrasound images.
- Stole My Heart ($149): This includes a 30-minute imaging session, a framed black-and-white photo of your baby, a CD of ultrasound images, and a stuffed bear containing a recording of your baby’s heartbeat.
- Special MOMents ($224): This package includes a 30-minute imaging session, a framed black-and- white photo of your baby, a CD of ultrasound images, the stuffed bear containing a recording of your baby’s heartbeat, and a European Facial at Revive Spa & Skincare.
