Advanced heart and vascular care, right in our community

Your heart keeps your body going, so when it isn’t working properly, your health and wellness can suffer. At the Reid Health Heart & Vascular Center, getting your heart back in working order is our priority. Our experienced teams of cardiologists, vascular specialists, and cardiothoracic surgeons offer comprehensive care for conditions affecting the heart or vascular system.

Through our services, you can access world-class diagnostic tools, including imaging tests, and the latest advances in heart and vascular treatments and surgeries. And you can do it all without ever leaving our community.

Cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery

Heart disease is the most common cause of death among people in the United States. Many conditions fall under the umbrella of heart disease, and we’re here to treat all of them, from coronary artery disease (the most common type), to heart rhythm disorders, heart valve diseases, congenital heart issues, and more.

Cardiologists at the Reid Health Heart & Vascular Center use advanced tools to determine a diagnosis and create a treatment plan based on your needs. We also offer preventive services. Our cardiologists work closely with our cardiothoracic surgeons, who perform delicate open-heart surgeries for people with complex heart conditions.

If you’re at a high risk of developing heart disease but haven’t yet been diagnosed, we can help you take steps to protect your heart.

Heart health in women

Heart disease is just as common among women as it is among men, but it often shows up differently in women. Women have risk factors related to their hormones and anatomy, and they are more likely to experience some less-common heart conditions.

It’s important for women to understand those unique risk factors and take steps to protect their hearts. We’re here to help.

Our cardiologists work with women to identify those distinct risk factors for heart disease and lower their risk.

Rhythm Management Center

The heart usually beats steadily, but heart rhythm disorders can sometimes cause it to beat faster, slower, or irregularly. These abnormal heart rhythms aren’t always dangerous, but some of them can be.

At the Rhythm Management Center, we offer the advanced care needed to diagnose problems with heart rhythm and restore a normal heartbeat. This might include lifestyle changes, medication, implanted devices, or procedures to stop abnormal rhythms. There’s no need to travel to get this care — you can access it right here at home.

Vascular care

The heart is important, but the vascular system is, too. The vascular system is made up of vessels that carry blood throughout the body. When it isn’t working normally, blood flow can be limited or even cut off, depriving organs and tissues of oxygen and nutrients.

We offer specialized vascular care to get blood vessels working again. Our vascular specialists use world-class imaging scans and other tests to determine a diagnosis, then create a treatment plan that’s based on your specific needs.

Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation

Your care doesn’t end with surgery or treatment for a cardiac event. We offer cardiopulmonary rehabilitation to help patients with heart, vascular, or lung conditions recover and protect their health in the future.

These specialized rehab services include monitored exercise, health education, nutrition counseling, and other support services, such as smoking cessation. Together, these offerings make a difference, significantly reducing the risk of both death and experiencing another cardiac event.
